One of our mottoes is that every moment is a God moment. We hope to help equip people to see God not just in brief moments during their week but in every bit of life that surrounds them. That includes our favorite movies!!!

We have put together a (growing) collection of brief Bible Studies based upon popular movies. The study compares a heroic figure or group in scripture with a heroic figure our group from the film. That's why the collection is called "Heroes of Scripture and Screen." The studies also focus on a specific theme.

Two Ways to Use Heroes of Scripture and Screen
Each study is intended to facilitate a 10-20 minute conversation.
-
Take turns answering the questions. Each guide includes five key questions. One question asks about your favorite part of the movie. One question is related to the theme's connection to scripture. One question is related to the theme and scripture's connection to the movie. One question is about a specific scene in the movie. One bonus question is fun and maybe a bit silly. The questions are generally aimed at the High School grade level but can be adapted to younger youth and kids.
-
Debate the Venn Diagram and make your own. Each guide includes a Venn Diagram that compares and contrasts the Bible hero(es) to the movie hero(es). Talk about whether you agree or disagree with our choices and make your own diagram based on your opinions.

We recommend creating a schedule of "family movie nights" that encourages families to watch a movie and to do its Bible study together weekly or monthly. You can also add a virtual discussion session for your youth to debate the movies and their questions with each other and with you!
