Brick Village 1.o
It started with a simple 2 foot by 3 foot village in Judea made from building bricks. That village featured a river with a boat, a temple, a large house, a mountain, numerous trees, and several dwellings ranging from cave to hut to house.
That village came to be populated by over sixty minifig villagers and became the scene for several photo and video shoots for Bible stories. The village had one special occupant in particular--Jesus.
Where is the Brick Village 1.0 now? After completing the first six videos, we let the kids of the Hart Street Makery at Christ Lutheran Church loose on the village. They had an awesome time playing with all of its areas and got to building themselves. The village is now a castle, a spaceship, an alligator, a secret lair, and more.
six Brick Bible Stories Created, so far...
The brickwork inspired a new artform: Cruci-Bricks
So far, over 50 original crosses have been made ranging in size from just a few inches to a few feet in height. Some use just a couple dozen bricks and some use hundreds.
Coming Soon Brick Village 2.0
The success of the original brick village has launched a second. This much larger village will feature many more natural elements and structures--serving as the scenes for many more videos. Brick Village 2.0 will also be mobile and able to travel as a custom feature of the Make Mobile. The hope is that everything built in the new village will also become available as a brick set for families to take home and build for themselves.
We could use your help making this dream a reality! Support our efforts by donating to the overall Make Mobile project, purchasing an item from the Village 2.0 wish list, or by purchasing an original Cruci-brick.
